Dear Ben,

I was so very sorry to hear of the passing of your mother, and now your grandmother. It must be especially difficult being so far from California during this time, but I hope the wonderful memories you carry with you will bring you warmth and comfort. The memorial website for your mother is beautiful and touching; it was wonderful to see your family and friends together celebrating her life. I will keep you and your family in my prayers as you make your way through the months ahead. May peace be with you all.

I was so sad to hear the news about Arliene. My deepest sympathies go out to the Ben and the Beesley family. Arliene was a such a sweet and kind lady, and so very caring. Her presence was remarkable. She is now walking with God with that wonderful smile that we all know.

I don't think I can possibly come up with anything to say about such a wonderfully spirited person that has not already been said. Arliene effected so many of us who had the pleasure of working with her either in a transaction or on the board of directors of many organizations. One thing I can definitely say about Arliene is that you could not say no to her and would not want to disappoint her, so much so that she actually got my husband to sing Christmas carols in front of everyone at a holiday party in her home last Christmas! I couldn't believe it! It was such a fond memory for me to have shared with her, I'm so glad to have had that and so many other opportunities with Arliene. God has certainly blessed all who came in contact with her.

Dear God, Please help me keep in my heart and my mind the principles that Arliene exuded about how to treat people with respect, about how to share what we know for the good of others, and that the reward in life is loving and laughing. Amen.

Dear Ben and family: I know that is hard to understand how God works, but one of the things that helped me to "recover" from the lost of my dad (almost three years ago after a very important date). I know what you are going through. The most important thing is that you have great memories of your mom, that will be with you everyday of your life. Yes, it is hard not to have the "shell" as Mona called my dad's body after he passed away, but it is more important to carry her in your heart. God bless you, and give you strength to pass this time. I would like to share my personal feelings about Arliene. I think she was the kindness person I have know. She was so genuine in her compassion and support for others. She had no pretense was so honest with everyone. The world has a huge hole in it without her presence. I will never forget her and will always try to be like her. She was a wonderful role model. What a better world we would have if we could all be more like her. I am so sorry for your loss.

I will always remember Arliene's "joie de vivre" and her wide smile. I served on her Cursillo Team many years ago, shared all the joys and sorrows of life throughout 12 years of our Prayer Group meetings and watched her children grow into happy, productive, faith-filled human beings because of their parentage. Arliene's faith was deep and strong. Her caring was evident. Arliene will be remembered for so many good things she has done and for the blessings she gave to all of us. My heart and prayers are with John and the family.

On behalf of the Beesley Family, we are so grateful for the tremendous words of encouragement, support, prayers and love for and my mother and all of us. I think we are still in awe by the impact she made on this world. Your comments and memories are treasures that we will value for our lifetimes. I know that my life has been greatly impacted and changed by not only the time I was fortunate to spend with my mom, but by the love you have shared with us. I think that it is important for you to know that almost daily I receive calls or notes as to how she is impacting lives, even today. My guess is that will continue for a very long time. Our prayers and thanks go out to all of you and your families.

I am sad to hear of such a loss to our community! When I was new with Stewart Title a year ago, she was willing to take a chance on me and open a couple pre-escrows. Not only did she entrust me with that, she also heard when I was laid off and offered her support and services of helping me to find another career/job. There is only one other realtor in this community that had the same kind heart, so they are rare individuals to be cherished! May God Bless her now and her family forever!

When we begin to miss Arliene, we have only to pause for a fleeting second to reflect to discover anew the great legacy she has given us, Christ's love, which she so eloquently personified. Arilene was so like my Mother, who also was called by God in 2003. Even though we can't see them, we know these extraordinary Children of God are with us still. They are true Christians, and I believe the true reason they touch us so deeply is they dispense Christ's love so generously. For His love is all-enduring, and Arliene was surely called to be with Him for a special purpose, having walked in such an exemplary display of faith. They live forever in Paradise. I take great comfort knowing this, and don't miss them quite so much. For today, the best I can do to honor Arilene, my Mother, and Christ, is take what was given by them all, and try to pass it forward as best as I can, although I know for certain I am NOT perfect, just (mercifully) forgiven. I only pray God strengthen me to serve wherever I can in my own humble way, one day at a time. Amen. Dorothee Crawford

Very approachable and generous of spirit. A couple of weeks ago I finished writing a letter of recommendation for her so she might have a chance at a state position that she desired. It was easy to write that letter. She was so dynamic. She will be greatly missed.

One of my fondest memories is her asking me to dance at the hoedown for housing. It was a quick 2 step and she finally had to take the lead. I've enjoyed working with Arliene the last 5 years at the Association on various committees and especially as my mentor to be president this year. I will miss her smile, humor and her love.

My Memory of Arliene is formed from an observation of her at her MCAR Presidential installation luncheon. We and her family were all around- so diverse and interested; she was escorted up to the podium where she calmly and genially took the helm with grace and ease. She reminded us, that her mantra was "Be Kind". Morgan Marr John Saar Properties

Arliene has been one of the most active participants at the Keller Williams Carmel office since the day it opened on December 1, 2004. She has volunteered to chair committee meetings and has taken a leadership role in whatever project we are working on. In particular she has dedicated herself to the Keller Williams Culture Committee which reaches out to meet needs within our community. She has strongly supported the Monterey County Food Bank and the Salvation Army Children's Christmas Toy Collection. She has done a lot to promote the feeling of a family at our office. She has taken the time to get to know all the agents and to find a way of connecting with each one. She will be deeply missed by everyone. I wish to extend my sympathies to John, Ben, and the entire Beesley family in this time of profound loss. Nancy Sanders

I'm still in shock about dear Arliene. She was one of the first people I met when I joined Keller Williams. She always had that caring smile on her face and was always willing to help others in the office. With the heart of gold, Arliene was one of a kind; she was truly an amazing woman. Arliene sets an example in many ways. She is an inspiration on a professional and personal level. She left us so soon yet accomplished so much! She was beautiful inside and out. I always thought she had a face of an angel with the loving personality to match. She had so much love to give. I'm so pleased about how our office will continue to keep Arliene's memory alive...I will miss Arliene. My love and prayers for the Beesley family. Sincerely, Nancy Erfan

Well... I have been watching this memorial website develop over that last few days and... I just don't know what to write. I truly can't believe I will never see Arliene again. It was less than a month ago we spend a few days together in Sacramento and a real estate conference. I asked Arliene if she would like to join us for dinner after the days events. She said, "Yes, and she knew just the place." It was within walking distance from our hotel and I think the name was Fat Fred's. It looked like a dive. I couldn't believe little Arliene was taking us to such a horrible run down dive. But... when we went in the place was pleasantly decorated, clean and the food... well for a place called Fat Fred's it had some of the best Chinese food I think I have ever had. It was great! During dinner it seemed we were all sharing personal stories both good and bad. When I shared my story with the small group of four of us, I noticed Arliene paying close attention. She offered me a few suggestions to help me through my problem. I appreciated her advice very much. But what truly stands out in my mind now, is that she called me twice since then to ask how I was doing. And that she had not seen me around the office lately and if everything was ok. What a special person she was. If I would have only somehow known this was going to happen, I would of like most, made every effort to get to know her even better. While Arliene was another agent in the office, I miss her now like she was my own Mom or a special Aunt of mine. I look at this website 4 or 5 times a day, to look at the pictures of her. As far as for John, Ben and the rest of her family... I wish there was some word someone could say that would help all the pain and grief go by faster and someway make it all easier to deal with. If there was only a word to make it all go away, I would say it to you know in hopes to ease the sense of loss you all must be feeling now. I have a huge sense of loss in my heart tonight. I miss her incredibly. I had no idea she had made such an impact on my life. God bless you Arliene... you will be incredibly missed! - Love Randy

Thank you, Ben, for introducing me to Arliene. I was her first Buyer in 1991, and from there our friendship blossomed through her inner spirituality and genuineness. Even though I didn't know Arliene as well as others might have known her, it was evident to me that she embodied "the fruit of the spirit". She embodied, "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."(Galatians 5:22-23) My thanks to Arliene for sharing her smile, her caring, her love, her joy!

Arliene is now and always has been "God's child". Her faith in God, her certainty that we really can believe in "miracles", her sweet smile when she would peek into our office and step in for just a few minutes of conversation, her concern for those less fortunate, her desire to always be the best she could be so that others would benefit - these barely scrath the surface of the Arliene I know. God gave her to us, and she returned to God. Though we grieve now because we miss her, we know her contentment is complete. My love to John, Ben, and all the Beesly family. Sharon

My position offers me the unique privilege of closely bonding with each member who becomes president of MCAR. Although I knew Arliene before her term as the 2007 President of MCAR, we established a very personal relationship during and after her term. I cherish those many months of planning, traveling, attending meetings and sharing personal stories. She had a soft heart, determined will and infectious laughter. Her friendship was a gift that I will forever cherish. She leaves a void that memories will now have to fill. I will never look at a scrawny poinsettia again without thinking of Arliene and having a great laugh!! My heart and hugs go out to the Beesley family

Arliene was a breath of fresh air to everyone and anyone she came in contact with. I have known her as a mother to my grade school friends growing up, as a peer in the wonderful profession of real estate, as a volunteer board member of MCAR and a volunteer to so many charitable organizations and efforts, and as a friend. I am honored to have had the pleasure of knowing her through my life and know she will be missed by so many. I will always remember Arliene's aggressive involvement in governmental affairs at MCAR be it a Board of Supervisor's meeting in Salinas or a legislative day up to Sacramento, she was a true leader who stood up for the rights of others so often. To the Beesley Family: Arliene was such an inspiration to all who came in contact with her and I am no exception. This is one of my favorite inspirational quotes and seems to fit Arliene in every way. It was written by Ralph Waldo Emerson. "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Arliene succeeded big time! God Bless, Arliene, and her loving family.

Dear Ben and Family – I met Arliene and you at a Forest Theatre event and feel as though we have lost another one of our parents in our family – one keeping tabs on us, spreading happiness, checking up on how I was progressing with my cancer battles, reminiscing with Jane about Winnipeg from our ND days. We thank God for sharing her with us, for all of us to love, care about, and emulate. He must have decided that heaven needs lessons from Arliene on joy and caring and sharing, and He called her home to help Him with this enormous task. Arliene, I can only pray that God needed you now, he must have an important assignment for you that only you could accomplish. You have set bar for all of us to be the best people we can be, and treat each other with the utmost integrity and compassion. It is truly a gift to be able to say I know you. As your family celebrates the wonderful life you had, it also comes with great sadness to say goodbye, I beleive you are still with us in spirit, and you will continue to be an inspiration to us all!

Arliene and I spoke the Friday before Mother's Day. I wished her a "Happy Mother's Day". She replied "I know it will be the best one ever!" I am sure it was. We had a very challenging escrow that lasted about three months. She always said that all we can do is our best and pray. We did our best and prayed and it closed. She never made a negative comment and always was encouraging, smiling and welcomed you with open arms.Ben from day one at Keller, you welcomed me. My heart goes out to you and your family. Arliene,I will truly miss you and your wonderful spirit. Love, Stephen

It must have been the 2004 CAR meetings. By late afternoon, Arliene, Lloyd, and I had just finished our last meetings and decided to gather for a drink before heading to our rooms to freshen up for dinner. Pleasant, relaxing conversation ensued. We were discussing the lack of good radio stations in our area. Lloyd said he would really like a good "oldies" station, but could never find one. Arliene was glad to give him the call letters of one she had just discovered. He was quite pleased. Upon returning home, Lloyd tuned in. A bit confused, he listened as the "Big Band" music of the 40's trumpeted from his radio. I ran into Arliene at MCAR a short time later. We giggled like little school girls, picturing Lloyd's perplexed face, expecting "oldies" of the 60's and greeted with the 40's instead.

Dear Ones, These are the last stanzas of a poem named "When Death Comes" by Mary Oliver: "When it's over, I want to say: all my life I was a bride married to amazement. I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms. When it's over, I don't want to wonder if I have made of my life something particular, and real. I don't want to find myself sighing and frightened, or full of argument. I don't want to end up simply having visited this world." It is so clear to everyone who knew Arliene, and now to strangers who have read of her and wish they had, that she was not someone who "simply visited this world". She made a positive and lasting difference in the lives of hundreds of people. She knew, and her faith taught her, that we are not promised a life devoid of sorrow or pain, indeed those are the things that shape us, that make us who we are, that define our character. Arliene endured deep loss and desperate sorrow in her life. Her lesson to all of us is the triumph of the human spirit to rise above those things which grieve us and allow them to shape us as a metal smith uses fire to shape a beautiful vessel. Her conscious choice was to take the many challenges she faced in life and to learn from them. She chose to be an optimist, she chose to be charitable, and she chose to be kind. Her ability to be a positive and optimistic force for good is her legacy. She was truly "a bride married to amazement". She took delight in life, love and learning. I promise you this, for years to come you will meet strangers who will tell you "Arliene stories". They will share with you how she helped them, inspired them, and made them feel important. This will be her enduring gift to you. It will come when you least expect it and most need it. We grieve with you, in the truest sense of the words, your loss is ours.

My fondest memories of Arliene is when I joined her and Carol Sohm on a church pilgrimage to Medugorje, Croatia with a day trip to Dubrovnik. in May of 2001. We would attend the tour's events and then the group would meet at Colombo's, a wonderful restaurant nearby. We had many warm and wonderful gatherings along with the celebration of her birthday. Arliene loved her family, friends, church and her real estate profession. Arliene loved life and had a terrific sense of humor. May your heart and soul rest in peace. Barbara Eads

To Ben and the entire Beesley Family, my heart and prayers go out to you. I didn't know Arliene for very long, but somehow she had a way of making me feel as though I were someone special to her. The last time we spoke was at the auction where we both worked that day. I asked her how Ben was doing, and as always, her face lit up! Although she is highly respected by everyone who knew her in the real estate industry, it was very clear to me that her proudest role in life was as a mother. I'm sad today for the entire Beesley family......but I am also sad that I didn't have more time to know this warm and wonderful lady better! GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS, ARLIENE. Gloria Bindel

I have been sitting here thinking of the perfect words to describe Arliene. Needless to say, I am at a loss. I could list a million words and it still would not be enough. She is one of the most spirited, loving and amazing people I know. Always smiling, always lending a helping hand to anyone in need, always eager to learn something new but what I will always remember most is the warmth that she exuded everytime that I saw her. She always greeted me with a smile and a hug and I will truly miss that. To the Beesley Family, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. I really didn't know Arliene, in fact she may not have even know my name, but when I would come to the office and walk by her she would always smile and say hello. It wasn't just the fact that she was smiling on the outside, you could sense the peace and joy she felt for others and herself. Her spirit was one that you don't meet every day, a true positive energy. My thoughts are with your family and I know that because of you and the love you gave, they will weather this storm and keep you close in there hearts. Peace be with you.

Arliene and I had recently started taking singing lessons together. My goal was to be able to sing at my mother's funeral, and hers was to sing at the next MCAR's Got Talent Night! We told our teacher our repertoire would include hymns and Gershwin, maybe a little Patsy Cline! At our lesson on the Tuesday before she died, we sang and sang--Arliene went right into what she said was one of her favorite songs--Don't Fence Me In. I can see her now, singing in Heaven, to the delight of all the other angels. My song for my mother is going to be "Sweet By and By." One of the verses goes like this: We shall sing on that beautiful shore the melodious songs of the blest, and our spirits shall sorrow no more, not a sigh for the blessing of rest. I sing this to Arliene, whom I will miss so much..."in the sweet by and by, we shall meet on that beautiful shore". Sing on, my sweet friend.

Dear Beesley Family, After learning of Arliene's passing I thought about all the ways she touched my life as a young woman. She was supportive, encouraging, positive and a really good listener. She opened her home to me and made me feel like part of the family. With my dark hair and skin that was a bit of a stretch for a family photo but around the dinner table it didnt matter. I will always rememeber her luminous smile and generous spirit. My prayer for all of you is to honor her by giving like she gave, laugh like she laughed and live like she lived. Arliene and I first met at our first organizational meeting to form a local Monterey Peninsula chapter of Women's Council of Realtors. She volunteered to be on the Program committee and quickly found herself as chairperson! As with everything she did in life she was up to the challenge and became a driving force in the development of our chapter and became our second chapter president. She hosted our Holiday parties at her lovely home and worked to make a success of our organization. Through WCR we became good friends and traveled together to meetings and found we had a lot in common. Not only had we both been flight attendants but we were both caring for elderly mothers and often discussed these special challenges. She became a treasured friend. My prayers and sympathy go out to John her loving husband, her children and to Beth. I will always remember her beautiful smile and her caring ways.

Thank you for the light you brought to our business. Our 20 year old son received his license last year and you were exceptionally welcoming to him. You were a true gift to the Monterey Peninsula.

I remember a day that Arliene complimented me on always being positive. What a gift from one who was the prime example of a positive person. I am so happy to have experienced her warmth. We were always going to have that Arbonne party. I have a picture of the two of us with Theresa (Gerry Lukenas' daughter) who had beautified us with Arbonne cosmetics. I shall treasure that memory and the picture. Farewell my friend - you've left such treasures with each of us. Love, Harriette

Arliene was a wonderful human being. She brought so many people together... A wheel that loses its lynchpin is apt to fall free from its axle. It will take a concerted effort from the entire commmunity to keep us all together.

Arliene will always be an icon on this Peninsula. Every time I had contact with her she always had a smile on her face, asking me if I was 'doing ok' or 'needed any help', she was always positive for me. My deepest condolences go to you Ben and your family. Your mother was a true gem!!

Arliene has been an inspiration to me, an example of extraordinary leadership and dedication to those less fortunate. Her warm and gentle spirit will live on in her wonderful family. My heart goes out to them.

I remember Arliene as a 'Mom', first and foremost. As a Realtor, hands down, she was a professional. But working together with Ben gave us all a unique opportunity to see beyond the 'professional' and experience the warm, funny and sometimes quirky side of Arliene. She was such a natural mother, that, when I was around her, I felt like one of her kids too. I appreciate her family sharing her with our office, and myself.

Though I did not know Arliene well, I felt her spirit and her enthusiasm for life was contagious. She was always more than helpful and encouraging, incredibly knowledgeable about her field, loved her family and friends, and had a fun, playful side to her as well.

I could feel as if the world was caving in and, by good fortune, would run into Arliene with her bright eyes, sparkling smile and genuine cheer and I would know that life is good. What a gift for me to be left with!

Arliene was a continual bright light in the world. Any encounter with her was always filled with hugs and kisses and I could never resist telling her each time "I just love you!" Our world will not be the same without her here to coach us and give us the inspiration she always shared with such love. My prayers are with her family who were so blessed to have her love and light for so many years...
